The POP-EXPOSE ‘Should George Lucas Direct Star Wars Ep. 9’?

In The POP-EXPOSE this week we ask, should George Lucas be involved in Star Wars Episode 9?

Star Wars was something George Lucas thought up, developed, fought for, marketed, and became a very wealthy man from. Lucas and his team who did a remarkable job on the first 3 films, but got a lot of flack for his Prequel, and I think ultimately, led to him selling his baby. Although the 4 Billion dollars was a big incentive to sell the Star Wars franchise, I think Lucas would have finished 7,8,&,9, had he known that he would get brushed aside, but it was his choice to sell the franchise and he gave up the right to create the story.

So with that said should Lucas direct Episode 9? He was the one who created Star Wars, shouldn’t he be allowed to finish it. Abrams did a good job with episode 7, but did he really do a whole lot outside of enhancing characters, ships, and scenarios that already existed? Did he do much more then Lucas would have done? I saw the movie I thought it was great, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t want Lucas on the last movie.

Abrams still got a lot of fan flack, and how could you not? This is a world wide craze we are dealing with, is there any way to please the umpteen spazillion fans in the Universe? I think the average fan was pleased, and the new fans were pleased, and I think any long time fan would love to see Lucas come back and finish the story or at lease be a part of it. Laying down the torch for good, maybe this was Lucas’s plan all along. Where he was once the master now he is but the learner once again. Life at full circle.
